OOC Rules
1. We're not a bunch of kids, we don't hold petty grudges and act passive-aggressive towards each other. It makes the experience much less fun and uh, we don't want that. If you have an issue with someone, feel free to PM one of the administrators, but otherwise, don't be a bitch.
2. XO is literate-to-advanced. Such labels however don't really define skill that well. Let's just say it would be preferred of you had a decent harness on the English language. This doesn't just mean you know how to capitalise, this means you can actually type a few paragraphs that aren't choppy and disjointed. The post minimum stands at two paragraphs. How big you want to make these paragraphs is up to you, but constant short posts will not be tolerate.
3. Some mature topics may be discussed. By joining you are agreeing that you are mature enough to deal with such topics. For this reason it would be appreciated but not necessary for members to be thirteen or older.
4. Similarly, if threads are going to discuss mature topics that some may be sensitive to, please give a warning.
5. Profanity is allowed, but please don't abuse this privilege. It's alright to swear when you're angry, but don't take it so far as to confront someone with a wall of swearing with the occasional benign word thrown in.
IC Rules
1. XO is a fantasy site (presently the fantasy element is not extremely prevalent but will be). This does NOT however mean that wolves have random elements and powers. You will know what is acceptable.
2. Character histories should conform to some standard of realism. Things like pups being abandoned as infants and surviving and growing up on their own are unrealistic and will not be accepted.
3. You sign up with your character's name.
4. No controlling another person's wolf without their permission (if you want to come to an arrangement in a fight, you can contact them). The only exception to this involves newborn puppies, but if a person asserts that they don't want you to control their character, don't.
Fighting
5. When it comes to fighting involving three or more wolves, you have to assume an order, (ie. Bob, Billy, Jane, Bob, Billy, Jane and so on).
6. This should be common sense, but in a fight you cannot say your attack hit in the post unless you've talked to the owner of the other wolf and he/she has agreed. Your wolf attempts to attack, such as "Flower leapt at the other wolf, his jaws snapping at the male's shoulder, as he tried to get a grip." (Yes, something like that)
7. Again, common sense, but you can't have your wolf dodge a disproportionate amount of attacks. Similarly, if you say "he/she is built for speed, not fighting" (which is a cliche most of us are guilty of using), you have to REMEMBER that you used that cliche. So your wolf isn't going to be fighting champion or anything.
Mates and Pups
8. If you wish to have your two characters have pups, PM this [Administration] account. You will get a PM back saying whether or not you have permission. If your request was accepted, the PM will contain the (base) details of the pups such as gender and whatnot.
9. Pups that remain without a player for a month (unless this is discussed with an administrator) will die.
10. Once all the puppies are all posted on the birth thread, they may be posted outside the den.
11. There is no mating season on XO; reproduction can be done all year round. This mainly means that there is no huge influx of pups at a particular time, because there is no common urge to reproduce.
