The island that these wolves live on is not simply just some detached mass of land. Strange things that should not happen do happen behind the shores of Exitosus.
Take for example, 'seers'. Seers are basically normal wolves. The one thing that separates seers from the rest are the fact that they have the power to change things. This does not mean, however, that they can choose whether or what to change. At certain points in time, the group of seers will fall asleep together. While asleep, they have a joint dream where it is necessary that they fulfill a certain task. If/when this task is fulfilled, they wake up. This will result in the mutation of any pups born after this time.

Exitosus is a somewhat isolated place. This mainly comes from the fact that it is an island. It is not extremely difficult to get to the island, but the fact that it is not easily accessible by foot may well discouraging to a wolf of bad stamina. From the nearest shore it presents itself as a small lump on the horizon. However, the water isn't extremely deep; it is easy to wade for a while.

The island itself is quite large, which makes it surprising that it wasn't already inhabited. With the degree of fantasy that surrounds it though, who knows?
