Wednesday, June 17th - There is a new adoption thread. Deus and Auxilium are extremely important for an upcoming site plot, so be sure to check them out! Also, don't forget to post on the activity check if you haven't already done so.
Thursday, June 11th - Kitten has officially taken control of Exitosus. Wolves have been demoted and new rules have been set within minutes of the pack meeting. There is an activity check that I suggest people post in. Also, a (large) season change will be coming after the pack meeting is over.
Sunday, May 17th - Refer to the IC updates. There's going to be a lot of changes soon, so I hope you're excited!

Weather: The winter has cooled down considerably from the relative warmth of its early days. It still isn't quite freezing, though. Snow falls frequently and makes it a bit hard to get around the island. Energy should be preserved.

Adoptions The characters you find here will either be abandoned, newborn puppies, or character contacts (such as family members). On occasions, they may be boardwide-plot related. If you want to put a character up for adoption, either post the profile on this board, or post a thread with a link to the character profile. See the pinned thread inside for more information.

Noyade Cruciamentum
image of area . location on map
One of the more dangerous places on the island of island of Exitosus is Noyade Cruciamentum. The cliff lies in the west section of the territory. Most of the danger comes not from the fact that it is a huge drop from the edge, but that the water below is shallow and anyone who doesn’t jump far enough will find himself either dead or quadriplegic, which will result in death by drowning anyway. Adding to the risk, there is the occasional haphazardly placed rock in the water. Despite that, it is popular, albeit by wolves contemplating a romantic suicide, or teenagers looking for a cheap, risky thrill (if a wolf jumps far enough out the shallowness can be avoided, although the rocks are still a real risk).

Arbre Ostium

Technically it is possible to enter the packlands via the north of the territory, but not without difficulty. The beach here is shady, and a nice place to spend time during summer. However, if you try to go further inland from this area without having prior knowledge of the forest that begins on the beach, it is very easy to get lost. This makes it a very bad place to try to enter if a wolf is looking to avoid embarrassment, because there is nothing worse than having to call for help. The beach disappears quite quickly into the harder ground of the forest, and the trees that grow are medium-sized and close together.

Placidus Aberro

The site of the rendezvous is very secure, guarded by tall trees on all sides. The grass here grows quite tall and very thick, guarding the pups against any sort of threat which may arise. Pups can easily hide below the horizon of the plants, a very useful trick. Random splotches of color among the green arise at times, though they only range from light to dark purple. The flowers stand a bit taller than the grasses, making them more noticeable than everything else in the spanse of the field and more prone to vicious attacks by the violent pups.

Congressus Amnis
image of area . location on map
One of the most important parts of the island is Congressus Amnis, which is the area where the river meets the ocean. Fresh water runs into the salt water, although when the tide rises there is a small chance of salt getting into the clean drinking water. One side of the river is closely packed sand which grows drier as it moves away from the sea, and the other side is covered with trees. This trend follows the river all the way to the lake, where the fresh water comes from.

Caché Dangereux
image of area . location on map
One of the best places to survey the island is from the northeast corner. Situated in this area is a mountain that is relatively easy to scale. It is mainly covered with greenery, but it is still rocky. When standing on the top a wolf can see both the stretching sea, and the rest of the packlands. It isn't that much of a strain to get to the top, although it might be particularly difficult for a pup or unfit wolf. The winds are fairly strong up the top and it tends to get fairly cold during winter.

Sableux Beach

The easiest way to get onto the island is via this beach in particular. The reason being that this is the part of the border that actually faces back to land; getting around to the other side of the island would be an unnecessarily difficult ordeal, one that isn't worth it. As it is, however, this area is regularly patrolled by scouts and trespass is somewhat unlikely. The sand here is soft. There is a steep incline to get off the beach and onto the rest of the island, but it is not really so difficult as to keep wolves from entering the packlands; the parcel of water between the island and the mainland serves that purpose.

Boueux Trahison
image of area . location on map
The bottom edge of the island isn't the best place to spend time around, especially if you're not a good swimmer. Boueux Trahison consists primarily of very unstable ground. This area is usually muddy, and when it's not muddy it's lumpy and easy to trip on. When it is muddy, however, a wolf can find themselves slipping about and getting progressively dirtier. For this reason it is not a popular place for wolves who like to be clean. It is easy to fall into the water, and while this is not dangerous to those who can swim, it is largely inconvenient because it is impossibly to get out of the water the same way. But falling into the water here does provide a way to reach the dens.

Somniculosus
image of area . location on map
The dens aren't the easiest thing on the territory to find, especially because discovering them independently may involve an accident such as falling from Boueux Trahison. The dens present themselves as a small hole in the side of the island. Initially they're greeted with what seems like a small room-like area, but it gets larger the further a wolf goes in, and branches into more dens. The water stops in the first part of the dens, and doesn't infiltrate the rest.

Animositas Petra
image of area . location on map
There is a place on Exitosus which is for the most part untouched by the wolves whom live on the island. This place is the most spiritual place in the land and the location for most Seer activity to take place. Rocks litter the grass, but one stands alone in it's distinction. A tall rock with a rusty hue is used during Seer rituals, the wolves circle the rock while falling under the sleep. Two lone trees stand among the rocks; tall, dead, and spindly. For some odd reason that no one can explain, the area usually has a slight fog around it, almost as if someone had tried to conceal the place from prying eyes.

Venatio Somnium

Taking up a large part of the territory is the hunting grounds, which contain the large prey. Deer will usually inhabit this area because the food is plentiful, and wolves do this for the same reason. Generally the deer are more often found towards the water, but can be unpredictable and disappear elsewhere in the hunting grounds, especially if spooked by the presence of wolves. During a chase, the deer can and usually will disappear into the trees, which make it a lot harder to pursue the animals.
